The Story

Our story begins with unfulfilled promises by branding agencies.
My name is Karanja Ayub. I studied architecture and my dream was to begin a small architectural firm in my city – Nairobi, Kenya.
For context, Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya, a country located in East Africa. It is one of the major cities in Africa and serves as the economic, political, and cultural hub of Kenya. As a significant urban center, Nairobi is home to a diverse population and is known for its bustling atmosphere, vibrant markets, and modern infrastructure. The city has seen rapid growth and development in recent decades. As a young architect, I knew I was in the right place and so I started my small architectural firm – Foks and Folks Studio.
During the very initial stages of my registration, branding and start up, I engaged a few branding agencies that seemed to understand my branding needs, but could hardly deliver. There was a major discrepancy between strategies conceived and strategies executed. I almost gave up, until I decided to be the solution to my own problem. I had minimal experience with brand development. I took virtual classes on the same. In pursuit of practical brand identity solutions, I developed a new passion and pursued it. Foks and Folks Studio morphed from a small architectural firm into a vibrant brand development agency.
Having witnessed the struggles that many enterprises faced in effectively communicating their values and standing out in the competitive market, there was definitely an urgent need for a consultancy that could offer comprehensive brand development services. Creating practical brand identity solutions that would propel businesses and organizations towards success became our sole mission.
